Last winter I found the PERFECT recipe for hot chocolate/hot cocoa on the internet. Today in an attempt to make it again I found that it had been lost, I thought, to posterity. I could not find it ANYWHERE. However, after some detective work I found a close proximity and have added the cinnamon. Try it, you'll like it!
5 tablespoons Dutch-process Cocoa powder
2/3 cup Ghirardelli 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate Chips
2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Melt the chocolate chips in the milk. Add the cocoa powder and cinnamon when melted. Bring to a gentle boil. You do not need sugar because the milk sweetens the chocolate. The cinnamon adds a nice punch. I love this recipe. I am going to try it with rice milk and see how it goes. My mouth is watering overtime just thinking about it!
